Custom order terms

These terms apply to custom cakes ordered from L'Éclatant Corp. (“we”, “us”). Sending a quote request doesn't book anything. Your pickup date is confirmed once you've accepted our quote and paid in full, which must be before your pickup day.

Quotes

• After you send a request, we reply by email within two days with a price and the design details we've agreed.
• Prices are in Canadian dollars, before tax.

Notice

• We need at least 5 days' notice. Larger or tiered cakes may need more; we'll let you know when you ask.
• Dates are confirmed in the order they're paid for. We'll tell you if we can't take yours.

Payment

• There's no deposit: you pay the full price up front.
• Pay before your pickup day, either by e-transfer to orders@leclatant.ca or in the boutique. Your pickup date is confirmed once we've received payment, and we'll let you know by email.
• If we haven't received payment by the end of the day before your pickup date, we can't confirm it and your cake won't be made.
• We can't take payment for a custom cake on the day of pickup.

Changes

• You can change the design, flavour or size up to 48 hours before your pickup time, if we can accommodate it. Changes may change the price.
• Within 48 hours of pickup, we can't make changes.

Cancellations

• If you cancel more than 48 hours before your pickup time, we refund your payment in full.
• Within 48 hours of pickup we can't offer a refund, because your cake is already being made.
• If we have to cancel for reasons on our side, we refund everything you've paid.

Design

• Every cake is made by hand, so yours will be close to, not an exact copy of, any inspiration photo.
• Fresh flowers, fruit and colours can vary with the season and what's available; we'll use the closest match.
• We can't reproduce trademarked characters or logos. We'll suggest a design in the same spirit.

Allergens

• Our kitchen handles peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, milk, eggs, fish and mustard, and we can't guarantee any cake is free of allergens.
• Please tell us about allergies when you order, and check with your guests whether the cake is right for them.

Pickup and care

• Custom cakes are pickup only, from 4775 Walker Rd, Unit 14, at the time we agree.
• If you can't make it, please let us know. We'll hold your cake until closing that day; cakes not collected by then can't be refunded.
• Your cake comes boxed, with a care card explaining how to store and serve it. Once you pick it up it's in your care: keep it level and cool on the way, and follow the card. We're not responsible for damage after pickup.

Photos

• We may use photos of the cakes we make in any way, including on our website and social media.
• We don't share photos of people without their permission.
